In an effort to create an overall image and appearance commensurate with the high quality of its super premium imported “Q” Gin, White Rock Distilleries of Lewiston, Maine, has completed a total repackaging for the highly regarded top-shelf spirit.

To help with some of the vital aspects for “Q” Gin’s new packaging in 50-mL, 750-mL, 1-L and 1.75-L sizes, White Rock called upon the global services and resources of Saxco International Inc. of Horsham , Pa. , worldwide packaging specialists for the wine and spirits industry.

Saxco sourced and supplied a flint Fidji© bottle in all the appropriate sizes from Saverglass in France, a long-time Saxco vendor.  Saverglass also completed the blue fade and screen printing of all graphics for the 750-mL and 1-L sizes.  Saverglass additionally provided the blue fade for the 50-mL bottle.   

“Because of its large size, the 1.75-L bottle’s blue fade and decorating were handled by Quest in New Jersey ,” explains Eric Quy, regional sales representative for Saxco International.  Quest also is a much relied upon Saxco vendor.  Saxco has assisted White Rock Distilleries with packaging requirements for more than two decades.

The bottles’ overall designs were created by Swardlick Marketing of Portland , Maine , White Rock’s package design firm.  Unique to its overall appearance is a screened-on red, white and blue depiction of a British Union Jack and an aluminum “Q” appliqué, which was sourced in China by White Rock and individually applied by hand to each bottle.  The appliqué is present on all sizes except for the 50-mL bottles which are too small to accommodate it.

Paul Coulombe, chief executive officer of White Rock Distilleries, says that the top-end luxury gin is imported from Warrington , England , and is distilled with 11 distinct botanicals including lotus and lavender leaves which help account for its unique flavor.  “Never in the history of White Rock Distilleries have we had such an overwhelmingly positive reaction to a premium gin,” he notes.  “In fact, “Q” Gin was rated #1 by the Beverage Testing Institute and was also singled out by that group as being the best in taste in martinis among others in its class.

With our new package, we feel we have achieved a perfect balance of quality, image and appearance, at the right price.  We expect to be out nationally with “Q” Gin by year’s end.”
