In an effort to increase its overall share of the growing market for
premium cordials, William Grant & Son of Edison, N.J., decided to
introduce a new Just Desserts Crème Liqueur line in two distinctive flavors
- chocolate chip cookie and crème brulee.
To help develop an unique and innovative design for the package, it
sought help from Saxco International Inc. of Horsham, Pa., world-wide
packaging specialists for the wine and spirits industry.
Saxco ultimately was able to source an eight-faceted flint glass bottle
which was perfectly symmetrical in 375 and 750ml sizes from Vitro Glass of
Mexico.
The bottles were then sprayed black by long-time Saxco vendor Quest of
Hillside, N.J., who also was responsible for applying the creme-colored,
pressure-sensitive labels.
“We were looking for a package design which would deliver a home-made
crafted, yet distinctive look”, states Jennifer Long, marketing manager
for William Grant & Son, who is overseeing the Just Desserts project.
“And Saxco was able to help us achieve that goal.”
She notes that the Just Desserts premium liqueurs were inspired from two
of the world’s most popular desserts and translated into a cream-based
cordial by the Garden State distillery.
“We are proud of our participation in this project and are certain that
our role greatly assisted them in the successful U.S. introduction of these
new spirits,” says Herbert L. Sachs, president of Saxco International.
